Young Quebeckers are privileged citizens: Their lifestyle is envied the world over. They benefit from a high quality of life, a promising future, social security, and accessible health and education systems. It's truly a pleasure living in Quebec, a country of laws and rights, where we can express ourselves and vote. It's therefore hard to believe that there are Quebecois who do not take advantage of their great luck of living in a democratic society. Cynicism is spreading. Citizens - both young and not so young - are expressly losing interest in politics...and voter participation goes down with every election. Are the speeches and promises of politicians just not doing it for us anymore? Do citizens no longer relate to the projects and ideas of political parties? Are they simply waiting for something else? |
